What Can't Be Shipped? Restricted Items Explained
liblingz Team · October 13, 2026 · 4 min read
Some things look harmless in a shopping cart but are limited in international shipping. Rules depend on the carrier and on your country, and they change. This guide shows the kinds of items that cause trouble most often, so you can ask us before you buy.
Items that are often restricted
| Kind of item | Why it is a problem | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Batteries and items with batteries | Lithium batteries count as dangerous goods in air transport. | Light sticks, power banks, some electronics |
| Perfume and flammable liquids | They can be flammable. | Perfume, nail polish, some candles |
| Aerosols and sprays | Pressurised containers. | Hair spray, body mist, spray sunscreen |
| Food, supplements and medicine | Many countries limit or ban them. | Snacks, vitamins, health drinks |
| Alcohol | Strict rules in most countries. | Soju, makgeolli |
| Plants, meat and dairy | Biosecurity rules. | Seeds, dried meat, cheese |
| Fakes and copies | Illegal to import almost everywhere. | Counterfeit goods |
Why it depends
Postal services and express carriers have their own lists, and your country adds its own rules on top. Something one carrier refuses, another may carry under conditions.
What to do
- Not sure about an item? Message us before you buy and we will tell you what we know.
- If you choose an item that cannot be shipped, we contact you before going further.
- Pickup and Pickup + Stay: you carry things yourself, so airline and customs rules for travellers apply (for example, liquids and sprays in cabin baggage).
This is general information, not a complete or official list, and it does not cover every country. Check your carrier's and your country's current rules.
